Charity bucket collections prove quite a success

The generosity of IT Sligo Students was on full display last week as they dug deep to help raise a sizeable amount of money for the Raise and Give Week beneficiaries. A series of charity bucket collections were undertaken from Monday to Thursday between 12.00pm and 3.00pm. The collections were held both on the IT Sligo campus and in the student bars in Sligo town. A large number of volunteers kindly assisted the Students’ Union in carrying out this initiative over the course of the week. The daily bucket collections proved greatly successful and the proceeds will be donated to the Students’ Union designated charities; the Bill W. Club Sligo, the Holy Family Pre-school, and Special Olympics Ireland.

“The Students’ Union would like to thank all those who donated so generously to the collections.

We would also like to show our gratitude to the kind volunteers who selflessly gave up so much of their time throughout the week.

We will take great pleasure in donating the proceeds to our worthy charity beneficiaries” stated ITSSU President Breffni Gorman.
