Lunchtime Archaeology Lecture Series at IT Sligo

A series of archaeology-themed public lunchtime lectures will be held at IT Sligo between now and the end of April.

• February 12th – Kings, Bishops and Vampires at Excavations at Kilteasheen, Co Roscommon; Chris Read, IT Sligo lecturer

• February 26th – Lost and Found: Medieval Parks in the Irish Countryside; Dr Fiona Beglane, IT Sligo lecturer

• March 5th – Building the Great Dolmens in Britain and Ireland; Dr Vicki Cummings, University of Lancashire

• March 12th& 14th – Archaeology Postgraduate Research at IT Sligo; Thorsten Kahlert, Rita Mhig Fhionnghaile, Lisa Moloney, Sinead Middleton,

• April 9th – Excavations in Moneen Cave: Insights into Bronze Age and post medieval life in the Burren; Dr Marion Dowd, IT Sligo lecturer

• April 23rd – Who were our ancestors exactly? Some examples of ethnography and archaeology; Sam Moore, IT Sligo lecturer

Organised by the Stones and Bones Archaeology Society, each of the lectures will be held at 1.10pm in A0005 beside the Main Reception. The lectures are free and members of the public, staff and students are welcome to attend.
