Caolan Bolton – Candidate for Vice President – Welfare Officer

Hi everyone, my name is Caolan Bolton and I am a 4th Public Health and Health Promotion student and I would like to run for the position of Students Welfare Officer. I believe that I am very suited to the role as I possess qualities such as being approachable, understanding and hard working. Also I have been involved with various campaigns run by the current Welfare Officer Gavin Carroll which has given me great insight into the job. From my course I have been part of the running of many campaigns such as ‘Healthy Campus’ and the ‘Get Your Head Right’ campaign. From my Health Promotion background and these kind of campaigns I have developed a great awareness of the importance of mental and physical health. I also have a great interest in Sexual Health, Nutrition, Alcohol/Drug Awareness and Student Finance and plan to run various campaigns in relation to all these factors. I would love the opportunity to be a voice for students here IT Sligo and would really appreciate if you could get down and give me a vote next Wednesday the 14th of March #VoteCaolanForWelfare

Michael Cully – Candidate for Vice President – Welfare Officer

I think people should vote for me to be their next Welfare Officer as I’ve been living in Sligo for the past Four years so I’d understand the needs of a student. While being a Class Rep in my First and Third years I worked really hard to solve any issues my class had. I work extremely well with others and I have achieved targets that have been set out. I am approachable and trustworthy so if anyone has any issues I would be able to confidently help them out.
I want to ensure that all students at IT Sligo have a safe and enjoyable experience while at college as the years of college are very important. The needs of the students must be met and most importantly the Welfare of a student. Throughout my years at college I believe student engagement and Awareness are vital, so events would be organised so that students can get to know each other and made aware of the importance of their Mental, Physical & Sexual health.
Thank you for taking the time to reads this and I hope you vote for me to be the next Welfare Officer.

Mark Reynolds – Candidate for Vice President – Welfare Officer

My name is Mark Reynolds and I’m running to be your Welfare Officer for 2018/2019. After four years studying in Sligo, I can tell you that student life is one of the toughest times of your life.
I’m running to become your Welfare Officer because I know the struggles you all face. Welfare is a demanding role, requiring the abilities to listen, support, and lead the way as well as manage the day to day running of the union alongside fellow full-time officers. Having worked this past year in the SU as class rep and Entertainments Officer, and with present Welfare Officer Gavin on campaigns both on and off campus, and I believe that my character, dedication and experience make me the right person for the job.
If elected, I will work tirelessly to ensure your time in IT Sligo is as enjoyable and stress-free as possible, while ensuring we run campaigns for YOU on campus throughout the year.
I encourage all students to approach me at any time regarding any issues, or ideas you may have. This is a student union run by students FOR students, and without you none of this would be possible.
Thank you!
